How she did it: She enrolled in boot camp to shift the weight and overhauled her diet ditching the steak and creamy sauces to salmon and salad cutting her calorie intake to 1,300 calories a day. Jennifer maintains her new target weight by keeping fit with her new DVD Fat Blaster Workout which is a five step workout including Fat Blaster, Tone Blaster, Box Blaster, Power Blaster and Belly Blaster.

TV star Kerry Katona’s weight has continually yo-yoed but rather than focusing on just losing weight she has said she wants to focus on being healthy. She said: ‘I was extremely thin because I was doing a lot of exercise. I kept it all off up until last August before I went into CBB. But the difference now is I’m exercising because it’s good for my brain, it makes me feel good. I don’t exercise because I want to be skinny.

How she did it: Kerry attended an intensive four-day session at GI Jane Boot Camp where she shed around 2lbs each day and she continued to work with her personal trainer Liam Lonergan to drop a further dress size.

Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones has always said she was happy with her curves but after indulging a little too much on holiday she decided the time had come to lose some weight. She said ‘Something just clicked, I felt this is now or never, I wanted to make a positive change for me, and I haven’t looked back.’
Weight lost: Four-and-a-half stone
How she did it: Ditching the fad diets and simple counting calories. She dropped her daily calorie intake to 1,200-1,500 a day and lost the weight over 22 months.

The voluptuous Domestic Goddess Nigella Lawson has always embraced her hour-glass figure but in recent months she seems to have slimmed down. Earlier this year she said: ”There are times when I want to lose weight. I suppose the difference is I don’t want to be as thin.’ It would appear that Nigella has been ditching rich foods and shaping up.

How she did it: As a food lover Nigella has spoken about not going on a diet and simply taking up more exercise. ‘I like my food and I’m not going to diet so it has to be exercise for me,’ she explained. It could also been down to an Asian plant called Konjac. Nigella recently blogged about the ground root, which can be used to create noodles that are very high in fibre and virtually calorie free.

The Oscar-winning actress had never thought of herself as a plus size but decided it was time to lose some weight when she became pregnant but nobody noticed the baby bump. Talking of her new slim line self she says, ‘I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar!’

How she did it: She signed up to Weight Watchers as she felt that the programme was not only just a diet but more about healthier lifestyle choices. She also stepped up her fitness regime with twenty-five minutes of exercise a day including cardio and resistance training to tone up.

The TV presenter has struggled with her weight after having four children. She said made a concerted effort to improve her fitness and lose weight, but no matter how much she worked at it, the pounds still went on. Just before turning 50 she decided the time had come to do something about it.

How she did it: After much speculation in the media Fern revealed that she had undergone gastric band surgery and now maintains an active lifestyle to keep the weight off.

Soap star Pauline Quirke weighed 19st 6lb at her biggest and decided action was to be taken after doctors told her that she was ‘severely obese’.

How she did it: Pauline is following the LighterLife weight-loss programme, which combines low-calorie meal replacement powders which is considered to be a quick-fix option rather than a long-term solution.
