Healthy Royal Wedding

It’s all over! The glamour, the A list celebrities, the outfits, the romance and that fabulous dress. But if you have your own big day to look forward too it might be worthwhile knowing how Megan Markle managed to sparkle and take some of her top health tips to apply to your own wedding preparations. We saw this great article on the Food Network which gives some great insights.

Meghan Markle has long appreciated a diet of balance and moderation, and that seemed to be her eating plan as she counted down to her wedding as well.
Diet
We already know Meghan favours a plant-based diet and limits her meat intake (she makes it count, like with that famous engagement chicken!) but she also tries to load up on fresh food, fruits and veggies, and lots of smoothies. She always likes to start her day with smoothies with ingredients like cinnamon, almond milk, and chia seeds. But the former actress and foodie blogger doesn’t believe in deprivation and famously loves fries, wine, and pasta.

“I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends,” Harper’s Bazaar quotes Markle for having said while filming Suits. “But at the same time, it’s all about balance. Because I work out the way I do, I don’t ever want to feel deprived. I feel that the second you do that is when you start to binge on things. It’s not a diet; it’s lifestyle eating.”
So, while she may enjoy that pasta and wine (Tignanello, an Italian red, is a favorite), Markle probably leant more towards her old standbys of green juice and acai bowls in the days leading up to the wedding. “I think trying to go for coffee or things like that only end up hurting you in the end, so [I like] to get a really good natural source of energy like a great green juice. Something that just gets right into your system is a nice pick-me-up,” she told Shape.

Fitness
One of Megan’s favourite workouts is the Lagree Fitness Method on the Megaformer machine. She recently called the Megaformer “the best thing for your body – the Megaformer changes your body immediately” and added, “give it two classes and you will see a difference.”
“After working with celebrities for decades, I know that they have minimal time — sometimes they can only pop in for a 10- to 20-minute workout. With the Megaformer’s resistance-based platform and moveable carriage, the system of springs and pulleys — and your own body weight — gives you a full-body, cardio, strength-training, flexibility-enhancing workout with quick results,” says creator of the Megaformer machine and the Lagree Fitness Method, Sebastien Lagree.
Another workout Meghan is known to love is yoga. We know she’s been a long-time yoga devotee (in fact, her mom is a yoga teacher) and she was photographed a few weeks ago leaving a London yoga studio. “Due to the security issues, I doubt she was taking — or could ever take part in — a group class, but Meghan has said in interviews she loves Pilates and intense vinyasa classes,” says Kristin Contino, a royal fashion and lifestyle blogger. “She’s also used workout DVDs by Tracy Anderson in the past, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she does exercises like that in the privacy of Kensington Palace’s Nottingham Cottage, her home with Prince Harry,” adds Contino.
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter too much how Meghan Markle did to prep her body for her wedding day — she’s already in incredible shape, so her healthy lifestyle is clearly working!
